Shearwater wins seabed node survey contract in South America

In offshore project contracting, Shearwater Geoservices has won a three year ocean bottom node seismic acquisition award from a major oil and gas company in South America.[5] The agreement includes firm work in its first and third years, plus a framework for possible additional projects.[14] The announcement does not identify the client or disclose a contract value.[14]

Shearwater will deploy SW Tasman with its Pearl node technology, while SW Gallien will provide seismic source operations.[14] Offshore Technology reports that SW Tasman will handle node deployment during the campaign.[5]

Operations are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue through 2027 with both vessels working.[14] The later scope is scheduled to start towards the end of 2028 and last about ten months.[14] Those dates describe planned work, while the agreement leaves any additional projects subject to a further award.[14]
