Seapeak has ordered three new LNG carriers at Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea for a combined cost of about $756m, or roughly $252m per ship, with deliveries scheduled for the first half of 2029.
Each 174,000 cu m dual-fuel vessel is already locked into a 10-year charter with an unnamed international energy company, plus an option for another five years.
The deal lifts Seapeak's orderbook at Samsung Heavy alone to 10 LNG carriers and underscores a broader rush by owners to secure the remaining 2029 delivery slots at Korean yards.
It signals continued confidence in LNG demand and shipping capacity despite the disruption that Middle East tensions have brought to global supply routes.
