Halliburton wins multiyear well services contract for Eni's Cronos development

This project economics story marks another step from approval into execution for the Cronos gas development. Halliburton has secured a multiyear contract from Eni for integrated drilling, well construction and completions services offshore Cyprus.

The work covers exploration and development wells in Block 6 of Cyprus' Exclusive Economic Zone. Halliburton's scope includes drilling fluids, directional drilling, cementing, surface well testing, coiled tubing, automation and remote operations.

Eni approved the Cronos development in July and targets first gas in 2028. The field holds more than 3 trillion cubic feet of gas initially in place, with planned output of 500 million standard cubic feet per day routed through Egypt's Zohr facilities and the Damietta LNG plant.

The contract turns that development plan into a defined well delivery package. It also adds to the subsea work awarded for Cronos earlier this month, concentrating drilling, construction and marine execution around a project intended to use existing regional infrastructure.
