This corporate results story shows how higher output and prices helped EnQuest narrow its first half loss even as an outage hit its main United Kingdom asset. The company reported a net loss of 24.83 million dollars for the first six months of 2026, down from 39.94 million dollars a year earlier.
Production averaged 41,544 barrels of oil equivalent a day, up 9 percent from the same period last year. New fields in Vietnam and Malaysia performed strongly, led by Block 12W and the Seligi 1b gas field.
The Magnus outage cut production by about 4,100 barrels of oil equivalent a day and led EnQuest to narrow its 2026 guidance to 41,000 to 43,000 barrels a day. Even so, cash generated by operations rose 31 percent to 281.4 million dollars, while underlying adjusted free cash flow increased 118 percent to 71.3 million dollars.
EnQuest expects to complete purchases of four Malaysian production sharing contracts by the end of 2026. Based on 2025 figures, the company expects those assets to lift group output by 134 percent to about 100,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day and add roughly 300 million barrels of proven and probable reserves.
