Intelligence without hardware
Compass reads satellite position data, vessel characteristics, and sea conditions to estimate fuel consumption and classify what each vessel is doing. There is nothing to install and no downtime.
AI fuel estimation
Machine learning models estimate fuel consumption from how a vessel moves, its speed profile, and the conditions around it. Onboard sensors are optional.
Activity classification
Compass detects transit, anchored, loading, standby, drifting, and manoeuvring, and classifies every position update in real time with a confidence score.
Journey detection
Compass spots when a vessel starts and ends a journey, including port calls, platform visits, and time at anchor, and logs each one with timestamps and fuel totals.
Anomaly detection
Odd fuel patterns, unexpected idle time, and route deviations get flagged as they happen, so you can catch fuel theft, mechanical trouble, or waste early.
Speed and consumption profiles
Build a speed to consumption curve for each vessel from its history, then compare actual performance with charter party warranties to see which vessels fall short.
Weather correlation
Fuel estimates account for wind, wave height, current, and sea state, so you can see how conditions affect consumption across the fleet and route accordingly.
EFMS hardware integration
Already have flow meters and fuel monitoring hardware on board? Compass connects to your EFMS equipment and combines sensor readings with its own estimates for the most accurate fuel accounting we can offer.
Flow meter integration
Connect Coriolis, ultrasonic, or turbine flow meters straight into Compass. Sensor readings are validated and merged with satellite position data.
Tank sounding reconciliation
Compass compares flow meter readings with tank level changes and flags discrepancies with a likely cause, such as measurement drift or an unreported transfer.
Hybrid AI and sensor mode
When EFMS hardware is available, Compass blends sensor data with its estimates. When sensors go offline, the estimates fill the gap.
Hardware agnostic
Compass works with the major EFMS providers, including Kyma, Hoppe Marine, Insatech, Krill Systems, and VAF Instruments, so you are not tied to one vendor.

A 24 hour summary of every vessel in your fleet: activities, distance covered, fuel consumed, ports visited, and how time was spent. Delivered to your inbox or on demand.

Every detected journey with origin, destination, departure and arrival times, duration, distance, average speed, and fuel consumed. Export it for voyage accounting and charter party reconciliation.
Fleet fuel summary
Monthly and quarterly consumption across the fleet, broken down by vessel, vessel class, route, and activity type, with trends against your targets.
Compliance and emissions report
